THE CHURCH
Inside the farm holiday there is a small ancient church,
able to accommodate no more than 30-40 people, that until
about thirty years ago, when the fraction "Marina" by
Amendolara had no more than one hundred souls,it was the
place of worship where they could hear the Sunday Mass..
The Temple was dedicated to the Madonna della Salute”
the name comes from the statue revered by the faithful. the
increase of population has necessitated the construction of
a new church, which retains the same name of the former
chapel in which was also transferred the statue
The tradition of the inhabitants, however, continues the
last week of August when a crowded procession starts from
the current Parish with the statue, the civil and religious
authorities, where the image of the Virgin Mary, after the
celebration of Mass, shall remains in its old site for a
night of prayer. |
